The Reno City Council voted 6-1 on Wednesday to raise sewer user fees by $3 per month annually for three years, starting July 1, 2026.
Councilmember Meghan Ebert cast the lone dissenting vote, citing financial strain on North Valleys residents. The increase replaces a previously proposed 8% annual hike.
City staff said the adjustment is needed to maintain the sewer fund’s solvency through 2035 and support infrastructure at the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility and the city’s sewer collection system.
