Traffic Stop in Storey County Leads to Arrest

A routine traffic stop in Storey County resulted in a drug arrest after deputies discovered methamphetamine in a vehicle, according to the Storey County Sheriff’s Office.

The stop occurred around 6:35 p.m. on March 16 along State Route 341, where a deputy pulled over a vehicle with no license plates. Authorities identified the driver as 39-year-old Ryan Rogers of Reno, who was driving without a valid license, vehicle registration, or proof of insurance.

While the deputy was issuing citations and arranging a tow for the vehicle, a K9 unit arrived on scene. K9 Deputy Chino was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, officials said.

A subsequent search uncovered approximately 15.6 grams of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

Deputies cited Rogers for the traffic violations and taken into custody. He was booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on charges of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance in an amount greater than 14 grams but less than 28 grams, and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.
