A Las Vegas firefighter has died following a crash on U.S. 50 on Wednesday, the Nevada State Police report. The victim is 48-year-old Kelly Arthur Brinkerhoff.
Authorities say Brinkerhoff was driving a blue Freightliner eastbound, east of Austin, when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. The truck crossed the centerline into the westbound lanes, left the roadway, struck a road sign, and overturned.
Brinkerhoff was pronounced dead at the scene.
