In Reno, drivers are paying an average of $4.13 per gallon, while in Las Vegas, gasoline is $3.70 a gallon. Rural communities such as Elko are seeing slightly lower prices, averaging around $3.63 per gallon. The current national average is $2.98.
California continues to lead the nation with the highest average price at $4.63 per gallon, followed by Hawaii at $4.40, Washington at $4.18, and Oregon at $3.71. The lowest prices are concentrated in the Midwest and South, with Oklahoma at $2.28 per gallon, Arkansas at $2.45, Kansas at $2.46, Mississippi at $2.49, and Iowa at $2.50 a gallon.
Nevada’s elevated fuel prices are due to a reliance on California refineries, which supply approximately 86% of the state’s transportation fuel. Recent refinery closures and reduced capacity in California have constrained West Coast fuel supplies, contributing to higher prices in Nevada.
