A lawsuit filed by the state of Nevada against Snapchat’s parent company will move forward after the Nevada Supreme Court denied the company’s appeal, the state Attorney General’s Office announced.
Snapchat had argued in a writ petition that it should be immune from litigation because it did not specifically target Nevada consumers. The Supreme Court’s decision rejected that claim, clearing the way for the case to proceed.
Attorney General Aaron Ford stated the lawsuit seeks to hold the company accountable for alleged harms to children in Nevada.
