A memorial service for Anna Marie Scott is this Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Nixon Cemetery at 4 p.m., as the investigation into her death remains unsolved four years later.
Scott’s body was discovered in the trunk of a burned-out vehicle on southbound Interstate 580 near the Galena Creek Bridge on Feb. 3, 2022. Investigators later determined to have been shot to death.
Since the homicide, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has released few details about the case.
Jacori Shaw is the only person of interest named in the case. Shaw died during a police encounter while officers were attempting to arrest him on unrelated weapons charges.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office stated there are no new developments to share and confirmed the case remains under active investigation.
