The Storey County Board of Commissioners is moving forward with the creation of an ordinance regulating vacation home rentals (VHRs) in the county.
With unanimous approval, the board will begin engaging the public and conducting research to develop the details of the ordinance. Officials say the proposed rules would limit rentals to individuals 25 years of age and older.
Further information about the ordinance, including rules for property owners and enforcement, will be determined during the public outreach and drafting process.
The board emphasized that public input is a key part of shaping the final regulations.
