Las Vegas police have arrested a woman suspected of hitting an officer and a paramedic with her car before fleeing the scene Wednesday evening. The incident occurred just after 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Decatur and Lake Mead boulevards.
Police said the officer and paramedic approached a vehicle after receiving reports of a person asleep behind the wheel. When the person refused to follow the officer’s commands, a physical altercation ensued.
During the confrontation, the driver put the car into drive and attempted to leave, striking both the officer and paramedic, LVMPD reported. Both sustained only minor injuries.
The suspect fled the scene, but police found her on Thursday around 10:08 a.m. near Decatur Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
“After another physical altercation with officers, the female suspect was taken into custody,” LVMPD stated in an email Thursday.
The suspect’s identity and specific charges have not been released.
