Man Convicted of Sexual Assault of Minors

A man has been found guilty on all counts in a case involving the sexual assault of children and faces sentencing on March 25.

Robert Vasquez was convicted of three counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, two counts of lewdness with a child under 14, one count of attempted sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, and one count of attempted lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

The case began after two victims, a 17-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, came forward and reported they had been molested by Vasquez when they were younger. Investigators said one of the victims told police the abuse began when they were about five or six years old and continued multiple times over several years.

The victim reported being touched inappropriately on numerous occasions.

The Reno Police Department believes there may be additional victims and encourages them to contact RPD at 775-334-COPS.
