Two people are in jail following a road rage incident that escalated into a shooting last week in Sparks.
The Sparks Police Department responded around 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 24 to the area of Highland Ranch Parkway and Pyramid Way after receiving reports of a road rage shooting. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle involved in the incident and learned that two people were victims of a physical assault.
Police said one of the victims produced a handgun and fired two shots in self-defense during the altercation. Authorities said the two suspects involved fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspects as Gayla Williams, 50, and Earl Williams, 45, both residents of Sun Valley. Both Williams’ were located and arrested, and booked on charges of felony burglary of a motor vehicle, first offense.
