RENO, Nev. (Dec. 22, 2025) — A Reno man has been convicted on multiple felony charges after violently attacking his ex-girlfriend earlier this year, according to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said 36-year-old Jonathan Delacour was found guilty of domestic battery by strangulation, domestic battery, and battery with intent to commit sexual assault following a jury trial.
The district attorney’s office said Delacour attacked his ex-girlfriend in January while the two were living together. During an argument, Delacour began hitting the victim, forced her to the ground, and committed a sexual act against her.
Later that night, another argument broke out, during which Delacour struck the victim again, strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness, and head-butted her. Prosecutors said the assault left the victim with visible strangulation marks on her neck, a golf ball-sized knot on her forehead, and temporary vision problems.
During the trial, Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Ross presented photographs of the injuries and a text message sent by Delacour days later in which he apologized for the attack.
Delacour’s sentencing is Jan. 15. He faces a potential sentence of up to two life terms in prison, with the possibility of parole.
