Nevada Sends Voter Checklist Postcards Ahead of 2026 Election Cycle

CARSON CITY, Nev. (Dec. 16, 2025) — Nevada election officials are urging voters to watch their mailboxes as the state begins preparing for the 2026 election cycle.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office is sending a new “voter checklist” postcard to every active registered voter. The mailer includes key reminders and important dates for the 2026 primary and general elections.

Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar says the goal is to ensure voters receive clear, reliable election information directly from election officials.

The postcard encourages voters to review and update their registration information at VOTE.NV.gov, including home and mailing addresses, party affiliation, email address, and phone number. It also reminds voters to ensure their driver’s license or state identification card is valid and up to date, which helps election offices provide timely updates.

Officials are also advising voters to rely on trusted sources for election information, including the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office and local county clerks and registrars. Contact information for county election offices is available at NVSOS.gov.

The mailer prompts voters to begin planning how they will cast their ballots in 2026, whether through early in-person voting, voting on Election Day, voting by mail, or using a ballot drop box. Polling locations, drop box availability, and early voting hours vary by county. On Election Day, polling places statewide will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election officials also highlighted key dates for the upcoming cycle. The 2026 Primary Election is Tues., June 9, with early voting from May 23 through June 5. The state’s EASE system, which provides absentee ballot access for military and overseas voters, will be available by April 24.

The 2026 General Election is Tues., Nov. 3, with early voting available from Oct. 17 to Oct. 30, and the Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE) Access provided until Sept. 25.

Officials noted that legitimate election-related mail will always display the “Official Election Mail” logo, a registered trademark of the U.S. Postal Service used exclusively by election offices. Anyone unsure about the authenticity of election mail should contact their local election office or visit the Secretary of State’s webpage.

More information about Nevada’s 2026 election cycle will continue to be updated online as the election approaches.
