WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (Dec. 12, 2025) – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has given the green light for the Mountain View gold exploration project, located about 16 miles north of Gerlach.
The project, proposed by Millennial NV LLC, will take place on 3,328 acres of public land. The approval allows the company to conduct exploration activities, including up to 400 acres of phased surface-disturbing work and baseline data collection to evaluate the area’s mineral development potential.
Officials emphasized that any future mining operations would require additional environmental review and provide opportunities for public comment. The Mountain View project marks the latest effort to explore mineral resources in northern Nevada, a region historically known for its mining activity.
