MINERAL COUNTY, Nev. (Dec. 12, 2025) – The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to several incidents along US95 on Thursday, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen vehicles.

The first incident occurred at 2:18 p.m. when authorities were alerted to a stolen semi-trailer from North Carolina. Officers located the trailer, being towed by a truck. Following an investigation, the truck driver was allowed to proceed, while the trailer was impounded and returned to its owner.

At 3:47 p.m., the MCSO received an alert from the Flock Camera System regarding a stolen 2008 Nissan Versa from Oregon. Deputies located the vehicle at a gas station in Hawthorne.

Driver Perry New and passenger Kimberly Vessio, both from Oregon, were taken into custody. Authorities found 6.8 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and two handguns in the vehicle.

New, an ex-felon, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, being a prohibited person with a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies charged Vessio with possessing or receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The final incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. when the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in locating a stolen 2017 Chevy Silverado from Yerington. Monica Robinson, recently released from Lyon County Jail on drug-related charges, allegedly stole the vehicle after a resident paid for her hotel stay.

Robinson fled in the truck, reaching speeds of up to 97 mph while driving along US 95. She was stopped using spike strips after causing damage to the vehicle’s passenger side.

Robinson now faces charges including grand larceny of a motor vehicle, driving without a valid license, eluding an officer, and additional offenses.

The MCSO continues to investigate the incidents.
