A man and woman are in custody at the Clark County Detention Center following a Boulder City arrest tied to a large identity theft investigation.
Police said officers initially noticed the pair during the April 4 graveyard shift after observing a vehicle without registration displayed. The stop led to arrests on a wide range of fraud and drug-related charges.
Jesus Avillar, 51, faces 21 counts, including credit card theft, forgery, identity misuse, controlled substance possession, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Melany McNac faces 30 charges, including identity fraud, credit card fraud, forgery, and drug possession.
Both are to appear in court next week. Police said one suspect had outstanding warrants in other states.
