Sun Valley Drug Sting Ends in Arrest

A joint enforcement operation by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force led to the seizure of more than 42 grams of methamphetamine and the arrest of a Sun Valley woman Friday evening, according to authorities.

The operation, conducted March 27 by the Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation and Recovery Operations (HERO) team and the task force, targeted high-crime areas along Applegate Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminal activity in the area.

Since December 2025, deputies and detectives have developed credible information linking multiple Sun Valley locations to stolen property, narcotics, and firearms, according to a sheriff’s office Facebook post.

Authorities said the targeted enforcement effort resulted in the arrest of 50-year-old Regina Renne Williams. Williams was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility at 10:57 p.m. on a felony charge of possession of 42 grams or more of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, identified as methamphetamine.

Williams was released from custody the following day.
