Brush Fire Contained in Storey County

Firefighters and the Storey County Sheriff’s Office responded on Tuesday to a half-acre brush fire near the Basalite Mine along Pine Nut Road.

According to the SCSO, forward progress on the fire has been stopped, and the blaze did not threaten any structures.

Crews are on scene mopping up the affected area and will continue operations for several more hours.
