A woman died early Sunday morning after being struck by a commercial truck on Interstate 80 near Winnemucca, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the woman was walking in the westbound lanes near the shoulder of the highway when a truck hit her just before 7:30 a.m.
The commercial vehicle involved left the scene and remains at large. Investigators stated the truck is a Kenworth T-680 of unknown color.
Authorities said the truck should have damage to the right front area and a missing right front headlight.
Pending notification of the next of kin, the woman’s name has not been released.
