The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is expanding its review of potential voter fraud cases, including in Nevada, as part of ongoing investigations supported by the Trump administration.
According to an internal memo, DHS is examining cases involving naturalized U.S. citizens to determine whether any individuals registered to vote or cast ballots before completing the naturalization process.
DHS will review current and past voter fraud cases managed by its investigative offices. The stated goal is to identify instances in which individuals may have registered or voted in U.S. elections before becoming citizens.
The initiative marks one of the latest federal efforts focused on election integrity and follows previous actions aimed at investigating allegations of voter fraud. It also comes during broader discussions about denaturalization proceedings in cases where individuals violated U.S. law during or before the citizenship process.
Officials have not released specific details about the scope of the review in Nevada.
