Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Crash

A Nebraska man has been arrested on multiple drug-related charges following a crash involving a semi-truck in Eureka County, according to the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to reports of a collision on Interstate 80 around 11:20 p.m. on Jan. 31. When officers arrived at the scene, they identified one of the drivers as Wayne Harms of Lincoln, Nebraska.

During the investigation, deputies checked Harms for outstanding warrants and found that he was the subject of a nationwide warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals Service. Authorities also said Harms was on parole for a previous conviction involving bank robbery with force.

As a result of the investigation, Harms was taken into custody and is now facing several charges, including trafficking in a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an electronic stun device by a prohibited person, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a fugitive from justice in another state.

The incident remains under investigation.
