Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot and killed early Thursday morning, Jan. 15, at an apartment complex on Clear Acre Lane in Reno.
According to the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies initially responded to a report of a death around 5:30 a.m. When deputies arrived at the residence, they found one person dead inside athehome.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Anthony Walker of Reno. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The manner of death is homicide, and the cause is a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and involves multiple scenes as detectives work through several stages of the case. Authorities emphasized that there was no danger to the public at the time of the shooting and said all individuals believed to be involved are currently in custody.
The Reno Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
