Driver Recovering After Crash; Separate Crash Causes Delays

A driver is recovering after a crash involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 80 near Dunphy in Eureka County on Wednesday morning.

According to the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10 a.m. near mile marker 256. Troopers from the Nevada State Police (NSP), fire units from Crescent Valley and Beowawe, along with EMS crews from Eureka and Lander counties, all responded to the scene.

Authorities say one of the semi-trucks was hauling baking soda, while the other was transporting guacamole and other food products when the two vehicles collided. The extent of the driver’s injuries was not detailed, but officials confirmed the driver is recovering.

Meanwhile, a separate crash early Thursday morning is causing traffic delays on I-80 east near Lockwood. The NSP stated the crash occurred around 5 a.m. and led to backups stretching past the Sparks Nugget casino.

NHP reported no injuries in the Lockwood crash.
