Man Sentenced for Domestic Battery

A Reno man convicted of domestic battery received up to five years in state prison, according to court records.

Santos Rendon-Laureanos received a sentence of 24 to 60 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections on Tuesday. The court imposed a term stronger than the minimum after reviewing inconsistent statements made by Rendon-Laureanos and his prior history of offenses involving the same victim.

Rendon-Laureanos was found guilty following a jury trial earlier this month. According to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, the 52-year-old is convicted of domestic battery, third offense, stemming from an incident inside a north Reno home in May 2025.

Reno Police officers responded to the home after Rendon-Laureanos allegedly entered the residence and assaulted a woman he had previously dated. Prosecutors said the couple separated in February, and the woman later moved into the home with her three sons and daughter.

Authorities said Rendon-Laureanos went directly to the woman’s bedroom, where she was lying in bed, attempted to take her phone, and struck her in the face, causing injuries. He then left the home and drove away.

Rendon-Laureanos faced a possible sentence of up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 under Nevada law.
