A man was hospitalized Friday evening after being shot once on Sutro Street near Quincy Street, according to local authorities.
Police said the shooting occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23. Officers were alerted to the incident after the injured man approached a passerby on the street and asked the individual to call 9-1-1.
Emergency medical personnel with REMSA responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. By 6:40 p.m., the victim had arrived at the emergency room and was receiving medical care, police said.
Authorities said the man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police did not immediately release details about how the shooting occurred or whether they recovered a firearm at the scene.
