Man Arrested for Violating Protective Order

A 39-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of violating a protective order related to a stalking case and for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched around noon to Mayflower Way following a report of a court order violation. While en route, dispatch advised deputies that the suspect had an active, served warrant and was sitting in a vehicle parked in front of the residence of the protected party, according to the booking report.

Upon arrival, a deputy observed a vehicle parked less than 100 yards from the Mayflower Way address. The deputy saw a man matching the suspect’s description seated in the front passenger seat and placed him in handcuffs without incident. A second man was also in the vehicle, sitting in the rear, and was determined to be unrelated to the call.

The deputy reviewed the protective order, served on January 15. The order required the suspect to remain at least 100 yards away from the Mayflower Way residence. The reporting party provided a written statement.

A Carson City Sheriff’s Office K9, Braum, conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of one of three narcotic odors. During that search, deputies found a broken methamphetamine pipe with residue and a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine residue.
