Man Arrested After Domestic Battery Call

Carson City, Nev. — A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia following a reported fight at a residence.

Carson City Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 5:05 a.m. to a home on Royal Drive after a reporting party said elderly males were fighting inside the residence. When they arrived, they heard a man yelling and made contact with a man who answered the door, saying his father was also inside.

The man who answered the door had a bloody knuckle and a bloody right nostril. When asked to get his father, the man attempted to close the door. A deputy prevented the door from closing out of concern for a second person.

The man later stepped outside and told deputies nothing had happened and that they were trying to go to bed. He became increasingly upset and told deputies to take him to jail. When he clenched his fists and refused commands to calm down, deputies detained him and placed him in handcuffs.

Deputies then made contact with the father, who appeared out of breath and was sweating heavily. He had scratch marks on his face, neck, and chest, as well as a laceration on his eyebrow. The father told deputies his son had been drinking and attempted to hit him, leading to a physical altercation.

Carson City Fire Department personnel evaluated the father at the scene. Deputies also located a glass pipe with white residue and a butane torch inside the residence, and they took the suspect to jail on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
