Juvenile Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run

Sparks, Nev. — A juvenile was critically injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a black SUV near the intersection of Rock Boulevard and I Street, according to the Sparks Police Department.

Police say the collision occurred around 2:40 p.m. The driver of the SUV did not stop and fled the scene before officers arrived, prompting a hit-and-run investigation.

Emergency responders provided immediate medical aid before transporting the juvenile to a local hospital. Authorities said the victim remains in critical condition as of the latest update.

Detectives are now working to identify the vehicle and driver involved. The SUV is black, and no additional details about the make, model, or license plate were available Tuesday evening.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash, has surveillance or dash camera footage from the area around the time of the incident, or has information that could help identify the SUV or its driver to come forward.
