Man Arrested for Obstructing a Deputy

Carson City, Nev. — A 49-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of obstructing a deputy and camping in a public park after hours, according to a booking report.

A deputy observed the man sleeping near a small shed off William Street and approached him. The man woke up immediately, and the deputy told him he would need to move along. When asked to identify himself, the man reportedly refused, saying it was unnecessary and began putting on his boots.

The deputy again asked for identification, but the man continued to refuse and started rolling up his sleeping bag. At that point, the deputy detained him and made several additional requests for identification. The man again declined to provide his name, according to the report.

Once at the jail, the staff were able to identify him.
