RENO, Nev. — A Reno man is facing multiple felony drug charges after investigators seized more than four pounds of methamphetamine during a narcotics investigation in northwest Reno.
Detectives with the Regional Narcotics Unit began investigating suspected drug sales earlier this month at a residence near the intersection of Sharlands Avenue and Mae Anne Avenue. Following surveillance and investigative work, authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Reno resident Isaac Gustavo Alvarez-Rojas.
On December 30, detectives arrested Alvarez-Rojas with assistance from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and served a search warrant at the residence.
During the search, investigators seized approximately 2,142 grams of methamphetamine, about 23 grams of heroin, and $2,557 in cash. Authorities estimate the methamphetamine alone had a street value of roughly $53,565.
Alvarez-Rojas is in the Washoe County Jail on charges including trafficking a controlled substance in an amount of 400 grams or more, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
The Regional Narcotics Unit is a multi-agency task force composed of members from the Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.
