Protesters Cited for Trespassing

MINDEN, Nev. (Dec. 15, 2025) — Thirty-two protesters were cited for trespassing Monday morning after blocking access to the Starbucks Roasting Plant in Minden, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The protesters are demanding a contract and claim the company is not negotiating in good faith.

DCSO officials received notification ahead of the planned protest at the facility. Protesters arrived at approximately 5:40 a.m. and blocked the main entrance. Authorities reported that about 75 people were on Starbucks property, with roughly 30 actively obstructing the vehicle gate.

At about 8 a.m., Starbucks security requested that all protesters leave the property or face arrest for trespassing. Deputies contacted protest organizers and advised that demonstrators could continue protesting in public areas but were required to vacate private property.

Deputies made multiple announcements around 8:30 a.m., warning protesters that failure to leave would result in arrest. Several individuals remained near the main gate, refusing to comply with the law.

DCSO personnel then contacted the remaining protesters and again informed them of Nevada trespassing laws. Those who refused to leave were cited for trespassing and removed from the area.

The remaining protesters complied with lawful orders and relocated to nearby public areas. All demonstrators had voluntarily left the area by 10:15 a.m., and the incident concluded without further disturbance.
