Nevada Increases Public Safety Measures to Protect Jewish Community

CARSON CITY, Nev. (Dec. 19, 2025) — Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo announced Thursday that the state is increasing public safety measures to help protect Nevada’s Jewish community amid recent antisemitic attacks reported around the world.

The governor said Nevada law enforcement agencies are being encouraged to maintain a visible presence and heightened awareness around synagogues, Jewish community centers, schools, and other locations where members of the Jewish community may gather for holiday observances or special events.

“Nevada is home to a diverse and vibrant Jewish community, and like all communities, they have the right to gather, worship, and celebrate without fear,” Lombardo said in a statement. “The recent antisemitic attacks we’ve seen across the world are cowardly and despicable. While there are no specific threats to Nevada at this time, I am taking decisive action to ensure our Jewish community is protected.”

State officials say the increased visibility is a precautionary measure and emphasized there are no known or credible threats targeting Nevada at this time.
