RENO, Nev. (Dec. 18, 2025) — The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified two people who died in separate traffic crashes in the Reno area earlier this month.
Patricia Morgan, a 49-year-old Reno resident, was identified as the pedestrian who died following a motor vehicle crash in Cold Springs on Dec. 6. Medical officials said Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene near the intersection of White Lake Parkway and Sandpiper Drive. Her death came from blunt force injuries sustained during the collision.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. when a group of pedestrians was attempting to cross the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk, according to the Reno Police Department. A vehicle hit two pedestrians, with one being able to transport themselves to a local hospital, while Morgan died from her injuries.
Emergency crews from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Truckee Meadows Fire, and REMSA responded to the scene. The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation. Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating, and early indications suggest impairment may have been a factor. White Lake Parkway was closed for several hours, reopening just after midnight.
In a separate incident, the medical examiner identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Kietzke Lane and McCarran Boulevard as 26-year-old Angel Orozco Quintana of Reno.
Police said the crash involved a motorcycle and a sedan. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Quintana was pronounced dead shortly after the crash. Blunt force injuries sustained in the collision are the cause of her death.
The Reno Police Department is still investigating both crashes and will release additional information as it becomes available.
