A boy has died after falling while climbing near the Eagle Falls Trailhead at Emerald Bay, officials said.
El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, and found Noah Ortega-Pourol Wiley, a sophomore at South Tahoe High School, about 400 yards from the trailhead with traumatic injuries. Lifesaving efforts failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
