Nevada Task Force Apprehends 147 Fugitives

The U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force took 147 fugitives into custody in the first three months of 2026, clearing 164 outstanding warrants across Nevada and other jurisdictions.

The arrests involved individuals wanted for a wide range of crimes, including homicide, kidnapping, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, escape, drug offenses, firearm offenses, and sex offenses. The task force also successfully recovered two missing children.

Arrests in northern Nevada included Sparks resident Jay Claughton, taken into custody on January 2 for vehicular homicide and driving under the influence; Jesus Ali Lara-Lara, arrested in Incline Village on January 22 and wanted in Mexico for weapons trafficking; and Devon McMillin, arrested in Sparks on January 30 on charges of sexual assault of a child under 14.

Additional northern Nevada arrests included Nathan Lee Potier and Erica Palmer, both apprehended in Sparks on March 17 on charges related to sexual abuse and enabling sex abuse of children, and Edward Christopher Chavez, arrested in Reno on March 18 for offenses involving child sexual abuse material.
