Nevada Army Guard Adds New Black Hawk Helicopters

The Nevada Army National Guard is upgrading its aviation capabilities with 6 new HH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, officials announced this week. The new aircraft will replace the Guard’s aging UH-60L helicopters, enhancing search and rescue, medical evacuation, and emergency response missions across the state.

The first HH-60M arrived this week, with the remainder of the fleet scheduled to be delivered by the end of the federal fiscal year in September. The Black Hawk features modern digital avionics, more powerful engines, and advanced medical equipment, allowing crews to provide critical care in flight.

Officials said the upgrade represents a significant investment in the Guard’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies throughout Nevada.
