A 17-year-old boy died Tuesday afternoon following a crash involving a dirt bike and a Razor UTV on Hot Springs Mountain in Douglas County.
The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. near the end of East Valley Road and Lindsey Lane, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and the East Fork Fire Protection District responded to the scene after receiving reports of the collision between the dirt bike and the utility terrain vehicle. Care Flight flew the teen to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno because of the severe trauma he suffered in the crash.
Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Pending notification of next of kin, the teen’s name is being withheld.
The Nevada State Police is assisting the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office with the ongoing investigation.
