Two Arrested in Yerington for Elder Fraud and Theft

Two Yerington residents remain in jail as part of an ongoing investigation into theft and fraud involving an elderly victim, according to Yerington Police.

Officers executed a search warrant Tuesday, Feb. 24, at a home in the 500 block of Madden Lane. During the search, police stated they located and seized stolen property and credit cards connected to the investigation.

Christine Ansari, 37, and Christopher Montano, 38, were taken into custody without incident.

Ansari faces multiple felony charges, including obtaining and using the personal identifying information of another person to harm or impersonate; fraudulent use of a credit or debit card; obtaining money, property, rent or labor under pretense; possession of stolen property; obtaining or possessing a credit or debit card without consent; and committing a crime against a person over the age of 60.

Montano faces charges of obtaining or possessing a credit or debit card without consent, possession of stolen property, and committing a crime against a person over 60.
