Teacher Arrested on Sexual Charges

A Las Vegas math teacher is in custody on multiple sex related charges involving a 13-year-old student, with police indicating there may be additional victims.

Brian Conway, 48, described as “a teacher with ties to local youth students,” was taken into custody on Feb. 3. Conway faces charges of using or permitting a minor under 14 to produce pornography, luring a child via computer for sexual acts, and possession of visual pornography involving a person under 16.

Conway taught math at Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School, the Clark County School District confirmed. Records indicate he was hired last year, with his first day of employment listed as July 31, 2025.

Before moving to Las Vegas, Conway taught middle school math in Nampa, Idaho, beginning in 2016. A photo from 2024 shows he received an $800 grant while teaching there. The Nampa Police Department has no record of a child sex crime investigation involving Conway.

Clark County School District stated that Conway has not been on campus and if released from custody, would be assigned to work from home. The district reiterated that all employees undergo criminal background checks, reference verifications, and work history reviews before being hired.

School Principal Allen Yee sent a notice to families confirming the arrest, stating the teacher will not be allowed on campus and emphasizing student safety as the school’s top priority.
