Pedestrian Killed in Crash

Fallon, Nev. — A 56-year-old Fallon man was killed Tuesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing U.S. Highway 50, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the crash on U.S. 50 just east of Gummow Drive shortly before 6 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Preliminary investigation indicates a Mercury sedan was traveling westbound in the left lane of U.S. 50 when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian is Bradley Emery, 56, of Fallon. Emergency medical personnel took him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said the driver of the Mercury remained at the scene following the collision and is cooperating fully with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
