GERLACH, Nev. (Dec. 26, 2025) — A magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported near Gerlach on Thursday night, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory.
The quake struck at approximately 5:30 p.m., about 26 miles from Gerlach and just north of Pyramid Lake. At this time, there have been no reports of damage or injuries associated with the earthquake.
The tremor follows another notable quake earlier in the week. On Tuesday night, a magnitude 4.05 earthquake shook north-central Nevada just before 8 p.m.
That quake was centered about 32 miles north of Battle Mountain and 43 miles east-northeast of Winnemucca.
