RENO, Nev. (Dec. 23, 2025) — Six men were arrested on multiple sex crime charges following a two-day prostitution sting conducted by the Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) unit, according to the Reno Police Department.
The operation took place on December 18 and 19 at a property in Reno. The HEAT unit is a multi-agency task force of detectives from the Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, and the Washoe County School District Police Department.
Police said the investigation focused on crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children. One of the six men arrested was already under lifetime supervision through Parole and Probation due to prior sex offenses involving children.
Among those arrested was 57-year-old Michael Wilson, who faces charges of soliciting a child for prostitution and attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation. David McComb, 36, was arrested on charges that include luring a child with a computer for sex, attempted statutory sexual seduction, attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation, and attempted use of a child for sexual portrayal.
Kyle Steenfott, 38, was taken into custody on charges of luring a child with a computer for sex, attempted statutory sexual seduction, and attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation. Harald Kothleitner, 61, was arrested for soliciting a child for prostitution and attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation.
Nathan Peterson, 45, faces multiple charges that include luring a child with a computer for sex, attempted statutory sexual seduction, attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation, attempted use of a child for sexual portrayal, as well as a parole and probation hold. Thomas Cassidy, 72, was also arrested on charges of soliciting a child for prostitution and attempted abuse of a child for sexual exploitation.
The operation is part of an ongoing effort to identify and arrest individuals seeking to exploit children.
