One Dead in Elko Airport Shooting

One person was killed, and a juvenile was injured in a shooting at Elko Regional Airport on Monday, according to Elko Police.

Officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to reports of an active shooter and found two victims with gunshot wounds. An adult was pronounced dead at the scene, while a juvenile was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said the suspected shooter, an adult male, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was not shot by officers.

The airport was closed and flights canceled as the investigation continued.
