State prosecutors will not pursue charges against Paul Kim, who previously pleaded guilty in federal court for an arson attack at a Las Vegas Tesla service center.
A Clark County deputy district attorney informed a Las Vegas Justice Court pro tem judge of the decision on Wednesday. Kim had been facing multiple state counts, including arson, possession of an explosive device, and firing a gun at a building or vehicle.
Authorities stated Kim targeted the Tesla service center near Badura Avenue and Jones Boulevard in March 2025. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that he shot at parked cars, used Molotov cocktails to set vehicles on fire, and spray-painted “RESIST” on the building’s entrance.
In February, Kim pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of arson of property, one count of attempted arson, and one count of unlawful possession of a gun. Because there was no plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nevada, Kim faces a potential prison sentence ranging from five to 70 years.
