Teen Killed in South Reno Shooting

A 15-year-old was killed in a shooting Friday night at an apartment complex on South Meadows Parkway in south Reno, authorities say.

Reno Police were called to the scene just before 10 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Officers found the teenager deceased from a gunshot wound, and an adult victim who was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The extent of the adult’s injuries is unknown.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Cameron Wadsworth, was taken into custody at his home without incident. He has been booked into the Washoe County Jail and faces charges of open murder with a deadly weapon.

Multiple agencies, including the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and REMSA, responded to the South Peak by Vintage Apartments.
