A fifth-grade teacher at Wing and Lilly Fong Elementary School has been arrested and booked on multiple child abuse-related charges, according to the Clark County School District (CCSD) and local authorities.
The CCSD Police Department identified the employee as 51-year-old Kha Nam Nguyen. District officials confirmed Nguyen has been assigned to home since the beginning of the investigation, in accordance with the negotiated agreement with the teachers’ bargaining unit.
Records from the Clark County Department of Corrections show Nguyen faces one count of first-degree child abuse or neglect and five counts of first-degree contact with a minor or mentally ill person.
Nguyen is being held on $15,000 bail and made his initial court appearance on Saturday.
