Police responded to the shopping center located near East Prater Way and North McCarran Boulevard, in front of businesses including Ross and Dollar Tree. Officers, along with members of the SWAT team, arrived at the scene to locate the suspect.
At some point after officers made contact, a shooting occurred. Authorities say the male suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity remains unknown.
Paramedics transported the two Sparks police officers to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The nature of their injuries is unknown.
