Charges Expanded Against Andrea Loving in Death of 5-Year-Old

Prosecutors have expanded the criminal charges against Andrea Loving, one of the Cold Springs parents accused in the death of her 5-year-old daughter, Izabella, as the investigation into the case continues.

In a statement, the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office said the additional charges reflect newly developed evidence and ongoing investigative work.

Officials said the case remains an active priority but noted they are limited in what details can be publicly released while the legal process moves forward.

The case stems from the April death of 5-year-old Izabella Loving, who was found dead in the family’s Cold Springs home. The Washoe County Medical Examiner later ruled the child’s death a homicide.

Izabella’s father, Nicholas Loving, has since been charged with open murder. During a court appearance earlier this month, Nicholas Loving pleaded not guilty. A judge approved a no-bail hold, and he waived his right to a speedy trial.

Both parents have also faced allegations of child abuse in connection with the case.

During an Aug. 14 court hearing, Judge Ryan Sullivan denied several defense motions seeking to limit public and media access to proceedings. The court rejected requests to prohibit electronic media coverage of pretrial hearings and to restrict the release of certain case information.

Defense attorneys for both Nicholas and Andrea Loving requested a 60-day continuance, which prosecutors did not oppose. The court scheduled a mandatory status conference for Oct. 16, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
