Dayton Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

A 44-year-old Dayton man was arrested Friday in Carson City on multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop and investigation by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team.

Deputies booked Pedro Felix on suspicion of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, possession of more than 14 grams of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Special Enforcement Team deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with a license plate light that did not adequately illuminate the plate, and for failing to continuously signal a turn at least 300 feet before turning.

The deputy approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupants, including Felix and another individual. During the stop, Felix asked if he could exit the vehicle because he had a dog inside and did not want the dog to become aggressive.

The deputy allowed him to step out, then asked if he had any weapons and requested consent to search him, which Felix granted.

A detective arrived on scene with a K9 partner, who conducted a free-air sniff around the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics.

Because an aggressive dog remained inside the vehicle, Animal Control had to assist. The officer removed the animal and placed it in a kennel so deputies could search the automobile.

During the search, deputies located a bag containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine inside a blue cup in the center console, according to the report.

Felix told deputies he had driven from his residence in Dayton to Carson City to sell an ounce of methamphetamine to a woman. He said he had been in a “business relationship” with the buyer since August 2025.

Felix also reportedly told deputies he served as a “runner,” which he described as someone responsible for collecting and delivering narcotics in exchange for money or drugs.

He told deputies he is a methamphetamine user and often smokes the drug in a shed behind his home. Felix further stated he had left his 11-month-old son under the supervision of a 16-year-old at home, while he and the other occupant traveled to Carson City to run errands and sell the methamphetamine.

Felix told deputies the methamphetamine belonged to him, stating the person with him knew he sold methamphetamine to make extra money but was not aware he was delivering any during that trip. The suspected methamphetamine later tested positive and had a gross weight of 25.46 grams.
