Report: 45 Domestic Violence Deaths in Nevada for 2025

A new report from the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (NCEDSV) says 45 people died in domestic violence-related homicides across the state in 2025, highlighting what advocates describe as an ongoing and deadly crisis.

The nonprofit organization released its 2025 Domestic Violence Homicide Report, which tracks fatal incidents connected to domestic violence and calls for increased prevention efforts, early intervention, and stronger support systems for survivors.

According to the report, the 45 deaths occurred in 32 separate incidents, including 11 murder-suicides. In five of the cases, a child was present during the homicide.

Women made up the majority of victims. The report documented 24 female victims and 19 male victims in 2025. Firearms were the most common means of death in domestic violence-related homicides.

Geographically, the vast majority of cases occurred in Clark County, which recorded 40 of the deaths. Washoe County reported three deaths, while Lyon County reported two.

The coalition said the numbers likely represent only a portion of the true scope of the problem, as the report noted that 10 additional domestic violence-related homicides occurred between family members in 2025, but were not part of the final total of 45 deaths.

There was no explanation of why the homicides were left out.
