A stretch of Interstate 580 became hazardous for drivers Tuesday as strong winds contributed to multiple vehicle incidents, including one rollover, authorities said.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are assisting Nevada State Police Highway Patrol troopers with several vehicles involved along I-580 between Bowers Mansion Road and Bellevue Road. One vehicle overturned in the area.
In an online post, the sheriff’s office urged motorists to use caution, warning that high winds were significantly affecting travel conditions. Officials have not released information regarding injuries or the total number of people involved.
